Sorry for the cricket chirps around these parts lately, I’ve been super busy but promise there will be many more posts coming up. Until then, here are some farmyard friends to keep you company. Enjoy the weekend everyone!!

Fromage Galore: Cheese & Beer Heaven at Quince Fine Foods

When I heard about the cheese and beer pairing event being held at Quince and hosted by the oh-so-adorable Madame Fromage, I knew it was cheese-lovin’ fate. Despite there being a bit of drama with the power going out due to epic storms, we still managed to have fun with cheese and beer in candlelight. Also in attendance was one of the brewers from Philadelphia Brewing Company, Dean Browne, and David April, who heads the Fishtown Beer Runners. Our three cheese & beer pairings were: Ossau-Iraty with Rowhouse Red, Humboldt Fog with Walt Wit and PA Noble with Newbold IPA. All of the cheeses that were tasted are currently available at Quince, which I can’t recommend visiting enough. Thanks again to Madame Fromage and Quince for hosting such great monthly events in the area!

Bridal Shower: Celebrating Smitha and Nikul

Several months ago I photographed a bridal shower  hosted by the lovely Santhi for her sister Smitha, held at the beautifully-lit Positano Coast in the Old City section of Philadelphia.  I was thrilled that my first experience shooting a shower was filled with so many beautiful details to capture. I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the bride’s wedding colors were—the rusts and reds were incredibly sophisticated and really lit up the room. The bride’s group of girlfriends couldn’t have been nicer—it was obvious how much they cared for her from all of the personalized touches. Delicious food was devoured (I was lucky enough to have some drool-worthy cannoli), embarrassing games were played and ridiculous wrapping paper hats were worn. All in all, it was a fun afternoon with friends and family sharing stories and well-wishes for the future.
