Hello, my name is Shannon Collins and I’m a cheese addict. In addition to my inexplicable love for curdled milk, I’m a Philadelphia-based modern lifestyle photographer, who is focused on taking adorably sweet portraits of people and pets. Rather than posing my subjects in front of stale backdrops, I prefer to shoot casually on-location to capture candid moments that make people smile. Combining my Bachelor of Fine Arts with my eye for detail, I aim to create vivid, stylistic shots that will be loved for years to come.
You may be wondering why I chose such a cheesy name as “Fromage Photography” for my business. When a friend blurted out “fromage,” I smiled and knew it was the perfect fit for me and my oh-so-silly personality. Photographers are known to have their subjects say “cheese” when they want smiles galore, because for whatever reason, cheese fills people with glee.
Whenever I visited my Grandparents’ house as a child, my Grandma would always shout from the New Jersey rooftops, “Shannon loves cheese!” She would stuff our car trunk with endless slices of Cheddar and Swiss before my family and I left for the long drive home.
Needless to say, I get warm fuzzies whenever I think of cheese.
Apart from delicious dairy products, I can easily say that animals are one of my main sources of inspiration. As a mama of five pets, I’m constantly observing my four-legged friends and trying to capture their personalities from behind my lens. I do the same with all of my clients, by sitting down and getting to know them before our session, so it can almost feel like meeting an old friend for coffee (or *ahem* cheese).
Every session I book is fresh and exciting! I do everything possible to guarantee client satisfaction, from stocking up on doggy treats for your photogenic pooch, to doing a spur-of-the-moment jig to get those sincere smiles worth framing for generations to come. Be sure to find out more about me by following me on Twitter or by shooting me an e-mail to hello@fromagephotography.com.
