Growing Sweet Pea: A Day in the Park

If you’ve noticed a shortage of posts on my end recently, it may be because I made the move from the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia to the quiet cowpaths of rural Bucks County. Before moving, I contacted the couple who neighbored my Philadelphia apartment, to ask if they’d be interested in a photo shoot at the local park. They were always so nice to me when I lived there (best snow shoveling helpers ever!) and I was curious to photograph their always-smiling baby. During our rambly e-mailĀ correspondence, I was linked to my neighbor’s website, Growing Sweet Pea. Mama Pea creates cartoons of everyday family life as a mom and dad, and it couldn’t be any cuter (scroll to the end of this post to see her drawing she surprised me with of me and my dog, Betty White!). Needless to say, I was thrilled to have a photo shoot with such a fun, creative family. There was a lot of swinging, sliding, laughing and baby gangsta sign flashing…keep in mind this was all in some of the hottest weather this summer has thrown at us.

Thanks again to the Sweet Pea family, who were total troopers during this shoot. I am going to miss having them as my neighbors!

Mama Pea - Shannon, I'm just now seeing this - it's so great! Thank you so much! The pictures came out so awesome - I love them - and you are so nice and fun to work with. I will miss having you as a neighbor but from the photos on your blog, it looks like your new place is pretty sweet. THANK YOU!!!!!! :)

Lindsay - Great work! I ♥ Mama Pea.
