The adorable Carina of Love Me Do Photography was kind enough to hire me as a second shooter for Sarah & Mikey’s gorgeous DIY wedding since her photography partner-in-crime was attending as a guest. These are a few teasers from the ceremony, which took place at Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia. After the ceremony, we headed to the reception at the Power Plant Studios, which was an a fun, artsy venue. Be sure to stop by soon for in-depth posts from the couple’s beautiful wedding day!
Boudoir Photography: The Beautiful & Sassy Miss Thimble
After meeting Miss Thimble of Weddingbee fame at her bridal shower, we decided to do a boudoir shoot as a surprise gift for her husband on their wedding day. Thimble’s adorable and bubbly bridesmaid was in attendance for moral support, and even let us make use of her charming living space.
Thimble was an absolute pleasure to work with on my first ever boudoir photo session, not to mention unbelievably breathtaking. It takes a lot of courage to pose in front of the lens this intimately, so I definitely give Thimble and other boudoir brides a high five. Hopefully more and more women will realize that boudoir photography isn’t just sexy, it’s also empowering and gives women a huge boost in confidence.
Bridal Shower: Celebrating the Thimbles
For those of you who don’t know, I have a wedding blogging alter ego by the name of Miss Candy Corn at the popular wedding website, Weddingbee.com. Weddingbee has introduced me to a group of amazing women, one of whom is the lovely Miss Thimble (now Mrs. Thimble), who grew up nearby in the Bucks County area. Her and I shared mutual “bee crushes” before meeting at her bridal shower, which she was kind enough to have me photograph.
Thimble’s family and friends were as sweet as can be and threw a gorgeous shower with delicious food, piles of perfectly-wrapped presents and gracious flower arrangements galore. Thimble’s bridesmaids surprised her by having her close friend on the West Coast attend the shower via Skype. It was cute watching Thimble’s friend chuckle on a nearby monitor while the bride-to-be unwrapped gifts and played shower games (which involved chewing lots and lots of different-flavored gum).
I am so grateful for having Weddingbee introduce me to such a wonderful group of gals, including the lovely Mrs. Thimble, who couldn’t have been a sweeter hostess. Next up, a boudoir shoot with the bride-to-be herself!
- really like this set, the shots are more candid. great work.
